Happy New Year
Ashley Steele, President Alpha Chapter
I hope everyone is staying warm, I wanted to get so info out about our next meeting because it is kind of a special one.
Our meeting will take place on Monday, February 4 at 6pm at the downtown Cabell County Library branch.
We will be having a guest speaker to share with us some insight into the Japanese culture.
Diana’s NotesImmediate past President Alpha Chapter
I have heard for years that a child’s basic education is the first 5 years of his/her life. The children who have had this from their parents know manners, respect and unselfishness. It is a joy to have these children in class.
I met one of my students this week and it was still a joy to learn what he had accomplished in his life. He showed me respect by opening my car door for me and then went around the car to help my mother, whom he did not know. As teachers, we do our best to bring out the best in our students. Sometimes, it is a struggle to bring children up to their capabilities when they do not want to bother with the whole idea of education. But, for some, you are planting seeds of gratitude that you may not know about until you meet them in your retirement years. Diana Murphy
